Pretty sure they're just one of those luxuries present on cars fresh out the factory, that quickly get lost after a bit of "experience". It's those little exposed nooks and crannies on all minis that worry uninitiated passengers :dozing:

In my experience cars generally leak like a sieve without them. Worth checking how damp your floor is after it rains. If its wet, get some!

They are very important for keeping both water and road noise out of the cabin. They are a good idea, the late self adhesive foam version works and lasts a lot better than the early cast rubber item in the above auction.

As said above they keep water out of the cabin as the holes for the check straps are "outside" of the door seal. Without them, rain can run down the door pillar into the hole and then dip onto the floor from behind the dash.

For the couple of quid they cost they are well worth fitting, unless you like welding in new floor panels that is. :dozing: :w00t:

They'll fit without a problem, the year listing is what the factory fitted

Just noticed one of mine is missing and the other in 'mank', the new ones look a bit easier to fit, with the split side.

I got these the other day, a quick question on fitting, they are wedge shaped, it apears that the fat end of the wedge is towards the outside of the car, is this correct?

Unless anyone else post the answer in the mean time, I will have a check on my car tonight, which has some fitted, and post the answer. :(
