im 18, i've been driving for 1 and a bit year. there have been no reported accidents. i have got 3 points for speeding. my car is a 1 litre 1990 mayfair standard and i have no, no claims because i was a named driver. now where ever i go my insurance is about £1500 3rd party. which seems alot is this normal and any suggestions of where to go???

yeah but thats still a ridiculous price. and if they looked into it i was only doing 40 in a 30 which i thought was a 40!! and a man in a bush with a gun got me. :lol:

A Quick Tip, Don't Speed.
Caught Speeding + 18 = Screwed Over On Insurance.

You've Pretty Much Shot Yourself In The Foot There, That A'int Going To Disappear For A While.

i wouldn't say screwed on insurance..

A mate has 9 points at 19 and he can get insurance alright

thats not too bad u kno....

my mate ran a red and got 3 points, he was payin 1200 fully comp (hes 20 with no no claims) then told of his points now its gone upto 1700!!!!

i did a mini mag one on that like £330 with my bf as named driver fully comp! thats not bad is it!

because you were a named driver getting your own insurance is like starting all over again you should have got your own insurance in the 1st place your no claims means nothing to them as you were a named driver and then the speeding wont help things at all

21 just passed 0 no claims and 3 points for speeding on my bike and pay £540 tpft with mods to interior body and paint (engine and wheels standard for now!)
