you ave the new type verto ch fitted (this is important to know when ordering clutch parts)

the 2nd picture is a pre verto clutch fitted to the early models of mini. the length of the arm and the position of the slave cylinder are what you need to know to assertain this information.

the pre verto clutch as you can see from the pictures has a long arm and the slave cylinder sits close to the top of the engine.

where as the verto clutch has a smaller arm and the slave cylinder is on the flywheel housing itself.

the 2 clutches are differant as well..

The verto clutch was bought in to be smoother I do belive. Many people (me included) prefer the non-verto (or diaphragm clutch) to the verto for power. That and non vertro is as simple as pie and chips.

It's cheap enough to get a new slave cylinder, but I wouldn't bother with one unless you don't need one.

the different clutches using different starter motors aswell. well worth noting.

typically

verto = pre engaged (with solenoid on top)

non verto = interia stater, wing mounted solenoid.

You will find that early verto's still used the inertia type starter... but the majority, as Jordie says, are pre-engaged..

If you find a pre-verto ( or diaphram clutch as it should be called... just thinking that in the 70's there was no such thing as the verto clutch so how could they have been called pre-verto :) ) with a pre-engaged starter, then it's quite likely that a performance anhancement has been made to the flywheel/clutch as this combination is usually restricted to lightened or ultralight flywheels...

The First Slave Cylinder Is On My Sisters 35 And She Has A Verto Clutch, So That's Right.

The Second One On E-Bay Is Now Invalid, So I Don't Know What That Looks Like.

But if you look at mine, which is meant to be a verto, and compare it to the one on ebay, it looks different. ?

for some reason you have a pre verto slave cylinder fitted to your mini.

the one on ebay is for a verto. and its just a little cheaper than minispares

Pretty sure the pre-verto and verto slave cylinders have different bores which will give a different amount of travel so yes you should fit the correct one !
