My car has been off the road for a week now so when it was working i thought i would "air it out". So i took it for a qwick spin around some islands and then up some A roads then all of a sudden lost control round a corner and was what felt like 0.0001mm away froma on comming "black cab" both of us doing about 50/60 im pretty sure that if i had any get out of death free cards i would now be one down i really need to calm down i think :proud: :D

And the moral of the story is............................?????????

Don't drive like an idiot !!!

If you lost control on a corner then you have a defective car or you were driving far too fast. No wonder insurance premiums are through the roof!!!

Probably comes from being young and dumb, but we've all been there, done that, but it'll only end in tears.

And just because it was 2am doesn't mean someone else won't think of doing similar!

So respect your car, the speed limits and thrash it around Castle Combe instead. :proud:

i recon people still use a track with a controlled state, not to just drive like a nutter

Driving Fast On The Road Is Totaly Different From Driving Fast On A Track, And Yes, As Minislapper Will Agree With, When Racing On A Track It Requires Absolute Concertration, A Lack Of Concertration Can End In Disaster.

So Someone Driving Like A Nutter On A Track Really Alarms Me, Let Alone On A Road.

I'm Really Glad That No One Was Hurt, No Sympathy For You Haring Around, But For Those Who Are The Innocent Party And Abiding By The Law.

Rant Over :proud:

And you certainly don't brag about it on a public forum. If any damage had been caused to anything you could have got a ticket for dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention.......!

Is it worth losing your licence over?

Agree with Daniel's comments above. You can't drive like a nutter on a track either. If you want to do that then get into banger racing instead.

And in answer to Taffy.......no we haven't "all been there, done it". I have never driven like an idiot in all the years of driving. There is a time and a place for everything and a public road is not it.

And people moan that insurance for new drivers is so high.......no wonder really!

Fair enough and on the one hand I was trying to be harsh but at the same time trying not to upset the poor bloke too much, but I admit to driving stupidly when I first passed my driving test. But I learned the hard way and ended up with a smashed Mini (which got repaired) and I was totally gutted and learned my lesson alright.

So I'm sorry for trying to tar everyone with the same brush and I hope everyone here drives sensibley, safely and has agreed value and salvage retention on their insurance policies. :proud:
