How long is a piece of string? The only way you will find out is if you go round a few local bodyshops and get some quotes. If the front end is rusted that bad, then chances are the flitch panel has gone as well.

The Best Way To Get A Price Is To Check Websites Who Sell The Panels, And Then Call A Garage.
Guessing At A Price Is Never A Good Option.

If you've already got quotes, why are you asking?

As said above, if you do get a quote they will only quote for what they can see. If they start removing panels and find a massive amount of rot (which isn't unheard of), then the price is obviously going to be affected.

Take it to a garage and discuss with them what will be included in a particular price and discuss what would happen if they find more damage once they start the work.

It's not difficult !!!!

Yeah, thanks for the personal insult!!!!

You've already got quotes, did you go and check out the quality of their work? Did you bother to ask them what you would get for your money? And did you actually ask them, as I said above, what would happen if they found more work needed doing once they'd started?

It's pretty pointless asking anybody on here what a quote is likely to be as someone would need to look at the car very carefully which they can't do on a forum!!!! And you are still going to get a massive range of different prices. The price quoted by a garage will be for the work they think is needed for YOUR car, not anybody elses.

If you pay £300 then odds on you'll get a C**p job. The reason for different quotes? Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for.

NOT ALLWAYS ! you may get a quote for £1500 , and they do a £300 job !!!

If money is a big factor then I suggest you do what I did. I had a few localish body shops so went round and asked for a quote. Got a reasonable idea as to what needed to be done and if there are possible complications - as a doctor would say!! Then as I really wanted to do the work myself but wasn’t willing to fork out for the welder and the rest I went onto the tinternet and got prices for all the panels, and even for some that might crop up when removing panels. I then went back to the body shop and said can you now give me a quote if I remove all the panels and rotten metal and supply the new panels! because everybody knows that this is the worst job and body shops hate doing it, but if it will save you money then do it! And most often you can find the panels very cheaply on the internet, and still get reasonable quality panels> dsnclassics do pretty good panels at a good price. Most will drop their prices quite considerably! I needed a scuttle panel, flitch panel, inner sill and a panels replacing; I didn’t want it repainted as I was still going to do other work. The price went from 800 down to 300 and the panels cost me around 80 quid!!!!!! Well worth the effort. And the quality of the work was top notch.

Look around, get quotes, be an annoying b****rd and do some of the work yourself

my advice. local colleges who do welding classes or automotive repair. See if they'll do it. Work might be a little on the stogy side but it cost bugger all. What my mate did when he wanted his shocked sorted on his saxo, bought the shocks and took it to college.
