Ok i have searched the site but cant find it anywhere.

I have just brought a mini rear ended trailer but it hasnt got the rear vallance on it. From what i can work out i just drill holes going along the bumper seam then fill these with weld (sorry dont know the right words for it, think its plug weld but o well lol)

I will be using my mig welder. i havent done any body work yet but i have done alot of practice and i think up to it now. lol

Is this right or would this be the wrong way to do it?

Also its a MK3 shell thats been converted to the trailer, but does it make a difference what rear valance i use?

I would prefer to use the one without the fog light hols but it doesnt make much difference to me.

Any help would be great.

If your car has a fog light, then probably better to fit one to the trailer aswell... but apart from that... yes drill or use a hole punch then plug weld the valance on...

Well I haven't done mine yet, so don't take this as gospel but...
What you're describing is indeed plug (aka button) welding and as I understand it should be fine. It emulates spot welding and from my reading on here, if the original part was spot welded on (which it was) and you're replacing like for like then you can "spot" weld the replacement. If you're patching, bodging, cover-silling or whatever then you have to seam weld.
Happy to stand corrected if I'm wrong!

[Edit] Ah, GW types faster than me and I'm not wrong, good! Just thought I'd mention that you can get a different shroud for a mig with two notches out of it specifically for plug welds. Mine is still in the packaging as I'm moving very slowly - let us know how you get on!

So just to confirm the valance without the fog light hole will fit on a MK3 shell? My fog light is in my light cluster so i will put it in the same place on the trailer.

Edit: if i can find out which valance i can fit ill order it then hopefully if it arrives befor the weekend ill fit it on the weekend and ill take somepics

Spot weld it along the bumper lip.

Easiest/best way.

Thanks will both the rear valances in teh ebay links work though??? If so ill get ordering but i want to make sure what one i can order.
