air lock ?

whats the best way of getting rid of an air lock in your heater system ?

i have tried removing the rad cap and running the engine ,there was a large belch of air but it still hasnt solved the problem !


any ideas please ?

I have done the following before

engine OFF put arm down the back of engine grab bottom hose and squeeze it a few times with the rad cap on and off and the heater tap open

Tried running with the rad cap off?

Just keep in mind you have to put it back on..........

yeah i know what i meant was let it idle i didnt take it round the block with the cap off .................................mmmmmmm might work tho lol

i would'nt drive it with the cap of, just let it run with the cap of and keep pumpong them hoses! It does take some time

yes its open i have now split the new bottom blue silicon hose where it joins the heater pipe but it isnt leaking yet
i hope it gets me home ?

Are you sure it's an air-lock problem and not a faulty thermostat instead?

After turning off my engine from idle (which is running very rough at the moment :D) I hear a gulp, bubble in the radiator rise, have I an airlock too?

Edit:

Hold on... thats why my heater wont work! Theres an airlock in the system, just answered ym own question there :crazy: She still isnt running good tho :dontgetit:
