Hey.
I'm about to embark on a 10" disc conversion and would like peoples feedback on new or old.
Let me explain .....
I have scouted the fairs and ebay for some time and examined a fair quantity of rust old lumps masquerading as 7.5 cooper calipers etc.
Speaking recently to a friend who went down that route - machining back to glory, general refurbing and replacing pistons with stainless, trying to find the right drive flanges and shafts etc etc - he said he wouldn't do it again.
Therefore I was wondering if anyone had bought and fitted one of the many brand new disc conversions kits available from mini spares, MM, minits et. al.
Any down falls / pitfalls etc?
Best place to buy from??? - as well as cheapest !

well with minispoares you will get 5% discount on yiur order for being a member. remember to add it onto the notes at the bottom of your order

Wait......theres a kit that fits under 10inch wheels without a massive offset......why do people not tell me these things!

Adam - these kits a for use with Cooper S calipers - average price is around £300 ish - Minispares are the best IMHO, one for the 5% discount, and their best customer service!

i'd go for minits every time to be honest. went there 2 weeks ago and got a cooper S setup for about £310 i think it was, fitted it last weekend and it works like a dream. can't recommend them enough.
If you do have to order from minispares make sure you phone the northern branch and speak to Rich, he knows his stuff.

I don't see what the problem is. Is you want to buy Cooper S calipers, discs and drive flanges but don't want to spend time re-furbing old rusty ones you'll have to buy new ones. Simple. It's not like they're unavailable, it just costs more than second hand (funnily enough). Or are you asking about alloy callipers?
And Adam, yes there are many different ways of getting disc brakes under 10" wheels without using a massive offset.
