I have just had mini sport hi-los fitted to my mini and it is now veering to left constantly. I have to wrestle to keep it going straight and especially when turning right. Is this due to the tracking? Or does anyone know what it could be and how to get it sorted.
Thanks

But when i took it to the garage i was told i needed to make sure it sat level on the new hi lows before they could accuratly do the tracking

Mine did the same and i had put hi-lows on. I found out that the tracking was out quite a bit because it didn't only pull to the left but my tyres wore down really quickly too.

Did you fit the hi los yourself? and how did you check the sat level?

When they had settled was when it started pulling more to the left, this was when i tried to get the tracking checked and they noticed the car wasn't sitting level.
We found some flat level ground and measured from the floor to a point on the underside of the subframe (getting a similar position each side of the subframe).
Mine was 9mm lower on the left.
I then undid the lock nut adjusted the screw and re-tightened the lock nut. You then have to drive around to settle the car before measuring the new height.
You'll be lucky to get it right first time
the garage explained that this transfers more of the cars weight to the left side and therefore pulls the steering across. When we had leveled it up the pulling was a lot less and the garage was able to do the tracking.

I'd say the Hi-los were causing problems.. but also, there are a coiuple of people on here that have had their tracking done, only to find it terribly out... a call to the garage un-earthed that they had set it up ot the BMW Mini tracking specs... a long way off Austin Minis!
lol really, BMW spec lol.
Well i would hope that a classic Mini garage (Sevenoaks Minis) would set to classic spec but I will know Monday.

It takes at least a week for a Mini to settle back into its springs when you do this even if they are the same ones it's been on for ages. New springs can take up to three months. As said above you can't set anything up properly until the settling has finished and the car is level. If it's a Mini garage they should understand this and accept that setting the suspension after settling is part of the job you have already paid for and re-do it, like Rover did when you bought a new Mini.
by the way, if they are from Mini Sport they're Adjust-A-Rides. Hi-Los are Mini Spares.

Take it back to them.

Thanks for all your help on this matter guys. I'll give the garage a call tonight and see if they are willing to take it back in to finish. Hopefully like you said they realize that they need to set the suspension after a week or so.
Have you had any dealings with or know anyone that has had dealings with Sevenoaks Minis?? As I'm not convinced they know what they are doing half the time.
And yes sorry. They are adjust-a-rides that i have
