Yea, sounds like you buggered them.
I'll just add a top tip in here.
If you ever hear your speakers distort, turn them down! Distortion, even at low volumes really shags-out the voice coils. It much better to have the speakers running at a much higher wattage, with no distortion, than at a low, but distorted wattage.

you might not have you know, do the speakers u have have 4 speaker connections, two + and - connections? are they connected properly if so. If you dont have these connections and they worked perfectly well before hand, then am afraid uve probably nackered the coil....
