I got my paint from halfords before, but on the mini it said PMA, but it was also known as BVLC90.

Post subject: Paint Code RWV???
Hi all. I have a G reg racing green cooper lookilikee mini with a paint code of RWV. I can't find reference to this code anywhere else - is this code right or should I be looking elsewhere on the car?
Thanks all.
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
The paint code will be shown on the VIN plate, is that where you found RWV? That'll be the original colour of the car though, so if's the car's been repainted a different colour that won't be the right paint code.
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
From what I can find, RWV is BRG. So it should be the right colour, if your unsure just take it to a bodyshop and they should be able find out for you. raelsbrotherjohn
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
Thanks Adam and Matt,
The code is from the VIN plate in the engine compartment but I couldn't find the RWV code listed anywhere in paint code lists. Adam - where did you get this from?
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
Sorry can I just correct myself, it's not actually British racing green Rolling Eyes sorry!
I typed in the paint code here and it comes up with...
RWV/89 655 - (NMN) + 617 (HNA) - MINI RACING 1989
RWV/90 617 - (HNA) + 373 (PMA) - 1990
So from that I'm guessing it's a mix of 2 different colours Confused Slightly confused now.
NMN and HNA is a white and a green - HNA and PMA is a black and a green. So they must be 2 different shades of green. They match the age of you car so I suppose its just working out which one it is.
Sorry for the false info I posted in my previous post Embarassed raelsbrotherjohn
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
Thanks Adam, good work. Mine is BRG and white, registered in March 1990. So, in any event the greens are both the same.
This is really helpful.
Thanks mate.
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
That code as shown is the one for a two tone car, sounds like you've got a Racing Green LE.... its meant to look like that!
Post subject: RE: Paint Code RWV???
RWV means British Racing Green (HNA) with Diamond White Roof (NMA)
Does any of this mean anything to anyone?

Rover produced alot of their cars with a white roof and different colour body,
They set up dual codes which cover both colours.
I have just looked upi you code and it is made up of
NMN - Diamond white ( i take it the roof is white)
and
HNA - British Racing Green Metallic
So if you go looking for paint for the roof, you want paint code NMN
if you want paint for the body you want HNA
Yes both are available in spray cans for the mini.
Here is British Racing Green I sprayed using cans.. In an average garage with everyday tools to show that it can be done well.

I will go and buy some this weekend and then see how i get on .
Will this paint code be metallic as my mini is metallic BRG and when i search the HNA it just comes up with BRG and not Metallic BRG is this fine or do i have to do something to make it metallic?
