I don't know an answer to your question, but I like your grille! I have one like that too.

There will be somewhere, but it will have to be very general... mainly because the vehicles came of the production line in al sorts of specification.. thefore you could not say. number 123456 to 123789 were red with two tone leather, sport pack arches etc...

The nearest you'll get is the the chassis number of the 1st MK1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc which defines the majority of the trim, body and mechanical changes.

As for body numbers, well that little metal plate that's welded to the bonnet slam panel of every Mini started "B20S" in later years and when a new panel is fitted (because of accident damage or rust), unfortunately that number is overlooked and lost because it's not refitted.

I've heard all round nose Minis from the introduction of the MKIII in late 1969, start "B20S" too?

Where as something like a MKII Mini Cooper & S would start "250S".

So it doesn't tell you much really.

the best "book" for this type of thing is called complete classic mini 1959-2000 by Chris Rees.

like guessworks said it's not quite as specific as you want but i think it's the closest your going to get.

it does list all major production changes by date and model changes by chassis number.
