I have just got home to fit my new rad, and ound it is an spi one with a temp sensor hole at the bottom, it was a nightmare getting this one so i dont want to take it back! plus its fitted now!
Is there any way of blanking this hole other than buying a sensor? i am jobless and therefore broke so the cheaper the better unless someone has one they can send for the price of postage to help a fellow enthusiast out?
Cheers
Gareth

I'd use a bolt and a fibre washer along with some ptfe tape.
Works for sealing most things that I've needed to seal (watercooling bits in the pc mostly).

I don't think you can just screw in a bolt, as the sensor is a clip in type. Though, you might be able to cover a short bolt with PTFE tape to get a tight fit, and use the retaining clip to hold the bolt in place.
If the rad is metal, then you could prolly get away with a short self tapping bolt, PTFE tape and rubber / fibre washer.
Or have a trip to the scrap yard and get a sensor out ouf another car (think they are mostly standard sizes) and just bung it in to block the hole.

All depends what rad it is as to the type of switch.
You could try the scrap yards on any modern engines. If its the srcew in typw, you may find them on the likes of Vauxhalls.
If its the push in and then retained with a clip type then any Rover will have one.
Oh and by the way, its not a sensor, its a thermostat.
