Hi all im Sean im 20 years old and live in Leyland, Lancashire, where they happend to build minis
back in the day.

I had my first mini when i was 17 it was a 91 rover city E and it was a shed (but i loved it)
i kept it till i was 18 then went for a 306 TD, after having meny cars scince then i came across an other
i couldnt refuse,
A work mate had an Austin mini city E 998cc sat on her drive and hadnt toched it for 2 years
i offerd her £100 for it an she said take it.

I managed to get it started with just jump leads & claning the spark plugs,
There is only one bit off rust and 2 very small holes in the whole car, (not bad for £100)

I am now starting to rebuild/modifie the min, I have just got fiberglass flip front, smothy boot lid and DTM wing mirrors for it, and also a 1275cc metro engine all cleaned and painted with a set off Twin su carbs.

The engine and the flip front are ment to be going on some time in the next 2 weeks
and im hopeing to get it M,O,Ted and on the road in the first week off May.

I think the mini bug has come back hard....

I am looking for a little help and advice with my project and this forum seems to be a good place for that.

So for the min can any one tell me what i need for the flip front, i already have the flip front, brace bars and hinges is there any thing else i need before i take it to be fitted?????

Thankyou
mini-sean

you remember the teletext holiday advert where a couple ask how much the other couple payed for there tickets ?
well after finding out that the couple paid a fraction of the amount they paid they were not happy to say the least.

thats how i feel.... welcome to the forum ^_^

heres some links for fitting the flip fronts it will probably answer your question:

pics of my first mini, no mate been nealy 4 years scince i had that one.

I will get some pics of the one ive got now as soon as i get a day off work.

any one have any idea of how much it costs to put a flip front on? as im gettin qoutes of 300 - 500
seems a little high to me.
I mean im getting the engine put in by a garage near me for £100 so £300 to chop a front off and put a new one on
seems to be a *yellow human water* take
