Hey all...

Was out in the Van, and then the indecaters had stopped blinking... they come on, but stay static, what could be the problem with the flashy part?

I did was the Van earlier today... could water of got into somewhere?

Cheers

I had this in mine, was when i was indicating right, the front one had a dodgy connector and was a bit rusty so i cleaned it up and it works fine! maybe check there?

Does it happen when you indicate left and right? also do your hazard lights work?

This happened to my old mini befor and i found out that the connectors on the incicator unit were dirty so i cleaned them and it works now. It also happened when the buld was broken.

Hazard flasher is an independant circuit and live feed. The bimetal strip in the indicator flasher unit manifests fault in two different ways. Not coming on at all, or staying on permanently. I would suggest replacing that first, Halfords sell them, 22wx4 square or round type - doesn't matter which. Only a few pounds.

Dont buy flasher units from halfrauds, they are cheap nasty and dont last 5 minutes. You will get fed up with taking them back !

'Upgrade' it to a newer electrical unit, there is a post on here somewhere about it. Think Guessworks has done it to his, you just have to 'add' an earth wire.

Hazard switch, assuming it has the hazard switch I am thinking of. Hazards wouldn't be standard on a '68 van, where are they from?
