Just wondered if anyone would want to do the 200 mile round trip for a day at europa park... possibly do the trip there in an evening, stay in a hotel overnight then spend the day on the coasters and a leasurely ride back to the ring?

Dont know how this would fit in with current events there as ive never been before and i dont think ive come across a clear cut, this will happen on this day itinerary(sp?!) type thing!!

Still not sure if i can go on this one anyway, need to give the car a very good once over soon and get the body work up to scratch, then possibly i will be going.....

The park will be closing for the year on the 4th November, hotels look a little on the steep side (60 euros a night + 22 for the entry ticket....) possibly look for a campsite!

Ive been to this theme park before and it is FANTASTIC!!!

:D :D

would not be interested as would have to pack everthing way to drive there then stay over night then drive back to set up tents again

just give the the winding roads around the camp site to drive around and the camp fire at night

just my feelings

There is literally loads to do there, the castle and mini zoo thing, nurburg its self, adenau, the walled town (where rian lost his wallet), actual laps, the museum etc.

But think I am forgetting one thing, getting drunk and waiting for Dave Merkin to arrive!

fair enough, was just a thought.... went there with school and loved it

Europa park do have their own camping site although they dont take reservations!

18 euros a night 8pm - 8am, 5 for the day (possibly leave the cars there when in the park, its a 5 min walk to the park or 4 euros for the car park...
30 euros entry

A bit closer, and easily within an hour's drive, is Eifel Park... no big, fancy rides, but it has a wildlife park, and it's within 15 minutes of Bitburg. Bitburg is a large-ish town with plenty of shops, and a brewery... don't know if they give tours. The Veterans from last year should be very familiar with Bitburg beer - it was the bevvie of choice around the campfire!
The roads around Bitburg are mountainous, winding - I took my car there last year. Great fun!
