There a maestro 1275 engine available locally, the owner says its an A+ engine so would this fit into a mini and what would need changing over?
Would this be the same spec as a Mini 1275 or a Metro 1275? (not sure if there is a difference although i know the MG 1275 is slighty different )
Any help / ideas would be helpful

There are quite a few differences, the block is different (more like an MPI block)

The crank is different

And obviously the gearbox as it's side mounted...

However on the plus side, yes the conversion can be done just need the right bits and a little machining, and they are reputed to be a strong block...

Might be worth having the head off it?

This wouldn't fit my 998 without pocketing the block though and im sure the person wants to sell it complete.
The quest for more power continues... (hence the original 1275 engine question)
