Day 1: James’s head hurts

After getting back to the flat at 2:30 last night, we managed to get up for 8:30, whose idea was it to stay out that late and to drink so much? (Not me!) After a couple of hour’s frantic packing we were ready to go. Getting to Dover wasn’t a problem and we saw three other Italian Job minis as we were queuing up for the ferry. A little advice though, if you are planning to travel by ferry in the near future I recommend you don’t do it when you are hung over, thankfully it was reasonably calm. It was rather amusing as James was a lot more hung over then me.

French motorways are really quiet as we only ever saw about 10 other cars on the motorway with us at any one time, although they are quite partial to a bit of tailgating. The hardest thing so far has been finding a hotel; there are none at any of the service stations so we ended up in the centre Reims.

Driving in a French City is fun to say the least, going round roundabouts the wrong way, pedestrian crossings every 50 meters and you cant see the traffic lights in a mini if you stop at them. :P

Proof we made it to France (for those who doubted)!!!!

(James took this lame picture)

We went for a wander to find an internet cafe but it was closed so we have come back this morning (Monday). Its a French keyboard and its doing my head in as the keys are in the wrong place!!!!!!!!!

Last night we saw a French scooter gang doing wheelies on their mopeds. Just like in the film Taxi, well almost.

Update on the Car:

Left indicator and hazard lights not working, which is just brilliant. (I had this problem a week ago and thought it was sorted, apparently not. I have got a spare relay so I will try and fix it tomorrow morning.)

Oil on hotel garage floor hope its from another car, but will have a good look tomorrow.

Top Speed: 130………kph

Distance travelled so far: (I can be bothered to work it out but will do it at some point, honest)
