Just wondering when I sit in the car the steering is offset to the left I have undone the two bolts holding the column and move it to the right as far as I can but it still looks about 1" out to the left is this normal. P.S I meant steering lol.

If you have moved it away from where it should be, put it back. Calm down, have a tea and don't try so hard! If you have pulled it to one side and bolt it in the wrong place it will massive load the steering pinion and strip the splines from inside the column. One day at random you will loose all steering control as happened to MTN at the Nurburgring last year. Also it must be bolted in the right place as it holds the front of the pedal box to the dash. Didn't the little bright yellow safety warning plate and the use of shear bolts discourage you from this at all? It would be very difficult for someone to have fitted it wrongly in the past. If however it was in the wrong place you are right to move it and must get it fixed in the correct arrangement for the same reasons.
