I have got some play on my left back radius arm and was thinking about swapping both back radius arms on my cooper s. Im wondering if i should pay for some KAD alloy rear radius arms which are approx half the weight.. does anyone know how much weight i would lose and if this would free up a little power??? Or is it not worth th expense and should i just go for a normal arm?

They are not actually recommended for road use to be honest.
It's an expensive way to save a few Kgs!

i think those ones are only for track use? i may be wrong.
i just changed from rear subframe to beam axle and coil overs, that saved some weight.

They can corrode, especially due to salt on the road. This is the only reason why KAD only reccomend them for track use only. If you take could care of them, or decide to only take your mini out on sunny days then they'll be fine for road use.
However, it is an expensive way to increase your power to weight (it won't increase power directly), and I doubt you'd notice the extra performance. It all depends on the state of your car at the moment. If you've stripped out the interior, modified the engine and your looking for that little extra difference then yes, consider the radius arms. Else there are better places to start.
Oh, and you might as well just deal with KAD direct, cut out the middle man!

No change to the suspension will free up power, just change the power to wieght ratio and therefore make it accelerate a tiny bit quicker.

Reducing the unsprung weight will have handeling benifits as well as the power to weight ratio
but i agree with the others as there are more cost effective ways of improving your power/weight
a friend of mine removed all the sound deadening from the floorpan (ready to weld) collected it all in a bag and it was about 20Lbs !

i wouldn't touch the KAD ones after having fondled some of john k's billet alloy ones. I'm pretty sure he's finished making the ones that allow you to run the std suspension arrangement now aswell to save having to use coilovers.
