Hi,
I have just bought Hi-Lo's and lowered GAZ shocks for my mini and want to lower it 50mm front and back. The problem is I have read on the various forum about trying to keep the drive shafts level but mine are already running upwards towards the wheel (see pic)

Ride height at sills is 250mm front and 280mm rear with 70mm clearance before wheel comes into contact with the rear arch (will be tubbing the rear)

The car is running 7"x13" wheels with 175/50/13 does anybody else have this problem or is it normal to have the driveshafts like this??.

Wouldnt worry about it. when if ever is your drive shaft ever going to run level and true? Never! the wheel is always moving up and down, and turning left and right.

The other thing you wont have noticed also is that your engine sits 12mm forward compared to earlier cars so the shafts are also at an ange horizontaly.

You'll be struggling for 50mm without tubbing the rear arches, moving the brake lines on the radious arms and correcting the front suspention and steering geometry. Even then your exhaust will find every bump in the road.

I'll be honest and say that from looking at the pictures in your signature, the car is low enough as it is.

All depends what you want to use the car for and from what ride hight you reference the 50mm to

Hi,
Cheers for the reply. The car in my signature is photoshopped and is not really that low. I was going to lower it 40-50mm from standard sill measurements. It has fully adjustable front and I have all the equipment to re-align it (tracking, camber & castor gauges)

Cheers

Paul
