Not sure if this is a stupied question but is there anyway of mounting the lamps without drilling holes through the grille? ive had a look on mini spares and seen a few things but would like some advise.

Yes, you can buy spotlamp bars which will bolt onto the same lip as the bumper (IIRC) PM simon@minispares im sure he will be more than able to help you out.
