hi all, i have just finished repainting a mini that i brought a few months ago and am in the process of refitting the head lights, i have three wires, a blue and white which is the main beam wire and i have a red/blue and a red/green my problem is that both of these wires are live with just the side lights switched on and i am pretty sure that one is for side lights and the other is for dip beam, has any one got a wiring diagram for the head light circuit or has any one had this problem before. my mini is a 1988 f plate mayfair cheers dan

Blue/red is dipped beam.

Reg/green is sidelights. The dipped beam cable should be very much thicker which will give it away. Also the fact that these are British Standard wiring colours helps!

The headlamp cables should be in a connector block that fits onto the back of the bulb directly so shouldn't need individual identification. How are you connecting these up?

Dan's got the wiring spot on, but if you haven't got a Haynes book of fairy tales then there should be a wiring diagram HERE
