i got my metro turbo engine to me on friday night. spent my free time (not alot of it) taking the head off and it is totally coked up inside. I was wondering if anyone on here could tell me the best way of decoking it as this is my first engine build. cheers, Ant

Wire brush on a drill. Or soak it in paraffin for a night or so.

Both of them, assuming you have stripped the head completely, get one of those pointy wire brushes on a power drill in around the ports.

when you say completestripped do you mean taking the valves out as well. sorry - 1st engine build

Yes he does (i know this because i did mine recently at his reccomendation). The valves are hardened steel so you can give them a really good going over with the drill attachment as well.

Yes, if the head is coked the valves will probably be just as bad. Whip the valves off, put the head in a parrifin bath for 48 hrs, wirebrush off the valves, wirebrush all the carbon on the head, not forgetting in around the stems, grind in the valves, fit new seals and reassemble.
