I took the carpet and sound proofing out of my car yesterday as i want to smarten it all up a bit inside and to generally guage the state of it! It doesnt appear too bad apart from in the front corners of the footwells. See pics:

Anyway, it would appear that at some point a new floor pan was welded on top of an older one, is this common? yet im not convinced, as the underside seems pretty solid as well (but this could have been covered over with loads of underseal etc etc
What would you advise as a fix? New floor pan and be done with it or patch it?
