I took the carpet and sound proofing out of my car yesterday as i want to smarten it all up a bit inside and to generally guage the state of it! It doesnt appear too bad apart from in the front corners of the footwells. See pics:

Anyway, it would appear that at some point a new floor pan was welded on top of an older one, is this common? yet im not convinced, as the underside seems pretty solid as well (but this could have been covered over with loads of underseal etc etc
What would you advise as a fix? New floor pan and be done with it or patch it?

Get rid of it all so you can see what other damage has been caused then replace with new floor pans and make sure it's all sealed properly this time !

Dave, are you saying cut the whole floor pan out as well and replace? This is what i would want to do anyway, might as well get it right. How far up the toe board do the replacement floor pans go? High enough to get rid of all my rot?
