hi all...i dont have a mini at the moment but i'm looking to buy one soon! at the mo i've got a 1991 vw polo gt which is driving me insane with a perminant cooling problem so thats being flogged off in the next week or so and then i'm in the market for a proper car!!
couple of questions though, whats the main thing to look for when getting one?ive been told about subframes being a bit of a bugger??
secondly whos good insurance wise? im 20 but have 0ncb, an sp30 and a declared accident had a quote off directline for £542 tpft on a 998...this good/ bad/ extortionate??
thirdly...anybody recommend where to look for one? tried the 'trader and pistonheads and seen a couple i like, got a budget of a couple of grand.
...and a bit about me...in case anyones arsed...i'm john, come from wigan originally and live in southport now (oop north), currently i'm a second year automotive design student at coventry uni and love pretty much anything that has an engine in it!
so thats me....be gentle!
John.

Hi welcome to the forum !
things to check for i was told are: (excuse me if names are wrong)
Under sill ( bottom sides of car )
top roof guttering
subframes
Behind dash if possible ( checked mine after buying it to find some lovely bits o' rust )
inner wheel arch
basicly everything but im sure someone will tell you specifics in more detail
As for insurance try HIC and also try www.confused.com it gathers quotes from tons of companies
