I've been looking at various alarms to add a bit more security/deterrent to the mini. What does anyone think of the Microscan range in particular the AN213 model which features ultrasonic and immobiliser, annoyingly tho it doesn't have battery backup for the siren (unless you go for the next range up which talks! what a gimick!).
I know they're not the best, but with the budget I'm on, it seems pretty good.

Erm at the moment.... about 100quid.... Wifey's not too happy the mini budget went thru the roof this month with it's new interior (But she thinks it looks nice!!! *sigh* women :D )

The reason I looked into the Microscan an213 was there seemed to be a glut of them on ebay for silly silly money and it seemed to have most of the features I'd want (apart from battery backup).. And from a personal note, you can spend £££ on Thatcham Cat 1 gear protecting your P&J but still the luvvly little chavvy oiks will just smash your bloody window(s).
I'm seeing it as a deterant/annoyance to put them off.. Eventually when I can get my head around HOW.. I'd like to do something like others have mentioned with various switches/buttons needed to be done in a sequence to start the car, i've an idea what I'd like to do.. It's just the putting it into practise I need to suss out :D

well for just over 100notes, you can get yourself a TOAD AI606. Brilliant alarms, i fitting one in mine last year, my mate has one, and iv got 2 people waiting for them to be fitted.

It does everything you need, it has Battary back up on the siron (dnt i know it!), interior sensors, door boot, bonnet triggers. 2 circuit immobilisor etc etc

Have a look on the spec for 1, im sure it will do everything you want.
