Hello all

Right well here I am. On thursday I bought my first ever car, and I know absolutely nothing about cars.

It is a Morris Mini Special 1972 848cc.

Basically that's all I know about it

Took it for a good run as soon as I got it (80miles) and it seemed fine. Then on Friday it started bloody chugging along and the engine cut out and it wouldn't start back up. Luckily I'd got with the AA who came out, replaced the ignition coil (luckily the guy had one on board) for £20 and it was fine.

I won't go on and on because I'm going to try find some other threads to ask my questions on, so err... hello everyone and I hope to talk to some of you soon

the problem you have is with the coil and condenser a common problem, the coil has been changed so its a good idea to change the condenser incase that is the main cause of the problem, all thro the winter mine was eating coils and in the end i changed the condenser and now shes fine!!!!

hey up how much will it cost to change the condenser? What sort of symptoms will I get if the condenser is faulty? I really haven't got a clue about mechanics so I'd have to get someone to fit it for me anyway, any ideas on how much it'd cost me altogether?
