Like the title says i'm in need of some advice for a road trip in my mini!

I would like to think that if I can do 50 miles in my mini I can do 1000 but that will probably not be the case!

Afew of my mates and I are wanting to do this 1400 round trip to the circuit-des-remparts race in Angouleme France. There will be a Caterham, a Ford model T Hotrod, an Avion and my mini!!!

My mini is in good health generaly but I need to know from people who have done these kind long trips before! What do I need to do in terms of car preparation and general advice for the trip. Should I fit a rollcage? What size wheels are best? What spares should I take? Etc etc etc.......

Any advice will be great!!!

Oh yeah! My mini is a 1987 Advantage with a 1.3 MG Metro engine, front disc brakes and 12" standard alloys!

Well in 2009 i am doing a 2500 mile trip that follows the route of some race that took place which ever one it was, it was the first time a mini had won it! So for the 50th year of minis we are following the route exactly how it was then! and it will be in November, I personally would have a break down service that covers you in europe or wherever, and one that wil take you home (these ai9nt cheap but worth it!) also check ur insurance, carry some tools and a couple of spare parts or even better get some one to follow in a transit van, any problems they should have spares with them (thats why they are there!!!!)
