Being a novice and newbie to mini's I need some help. My existing mini seats aren't in good shape so I bought some seats which previously had been a cooper, however being new to all this didn't realise I would need a seat subframe to go with them. The guy I bought them off didn't know a lot about them either.
I have the front hinging brackets however don't know whether a standard frame is available to buy anywhere that might fit these seats. Not sure what car the seats were originally in, so if anyone can shed some light - I am guessing maybe a metro or other rover? If anyone can point me in the right direction for sorting this problem out it would be appreciated!

These seem to be out of a Rover Coupe, which I know people have put in mini's before. Can anyone give any guidance how I do this?
If there is a subframe somewhere I will pay!

Seat subframes are only made for aftermarket seats by the people who make them to allow their seats to fit specific cars. AFAIK there is no one making adapter frames for seats from other cars, you will have to make something up yourself and it will have to be made well enough to satisfy the MOT man.

The only production Mini that came with seats fixed in an alternative way was the ERA Turbo where an extra floor crossmember was added behind the existing one to take the rear seat mountings of the Metro type seats that were used. That's the sort of thing you need to do.

Or look at the fabulous new Mini seat designs from Style 2 Design which were launched at the Stoneleigh show. I intend to get some of these myself soon.

On my part they were a bad buy as I don't really have the tools to make the pieces to make them fit. I have also found that to satisfy Mr MOT they have to lock and potentially there are problems with blocking exit from the rear of the car with new regulations brought in - (even though I would never contemplate ever putting anyone in the back of the mini.) I know that there isn't a standard subframe out there, but was hoping other people who have done this themselves might be in a position to guide or even do it for me (for a price)

Dan, the seats on that website are lovely but at the best part of a grand they would probably be worth more than my mini!
