I really don't get it. It's reasonably solid on the inside, but the outside is "eff you see kay ee dee".

It looks like its been repaired about three times now and each time just new metal welded in from the inside?

Then I saw daylight and poked it;

Thats an MOT failure, too close to the subby mount.

Best get welding.

Don't know what to do though. I have a brand new floor pan here, but I'm in two minds whether to just grind back all that rust and weld up the edges seeing as it's still solid from the inside.

As for that subby mount hole.. Umm, hmmn, it is pretty solid all around it, looks like I'll just pop a small patch over than and some underseal to get it through the MOT later this month then sort it out propperly later.

I'm really not in the mood for doing it, just because it's my own car.

Wish me luck..

Just wang a new floor in, or buy a front floor panel and cut a large repair patch from it, it's what i did and it's quite straightforward.

Looks like you have oversills but i can't quite tell. If so,... cut them off.. and fit proper ones with vents on. Heavy dose of waxoil needed too inside the sills, looks like this is why they've rotted outas i can't see any rust protection there at all on the inside. :thumbsup:

Oversills yeah, can't really see them in that pic though.

I'm going to go and attack it with the grinder in a few mins as I need to prepare myself for the shock of my life. See whats what :thumbsup:

Chop it all out and start again with a single floor pan... layers of metal are a trap for moisture...

I'm gonna save it all for another day now. I quickly patched up that screwdriver hole, and I welded up my passenger door skin because that was about to fall off.

Fed up with Minis.
