Hey was wondering if anyone can help me with this, my drivers side door is about 1cm off from the top. its a mk one door with the hinges on the outside duh. ive tried lifting it to bend it bk but its still off. when im inthe car i can see out the top and its letting in a fair bit of water. is this a matter of drilling new holes for the hinges or ia there an easier way?
cheers,
Aussie

Moving the hinges would be called bodging. Why would it need the hinges re drilled? It needs fixing not bodging.

In the externally hinged doors this is commonly caused by waer in the hinge pins. Repair kits of new bushes and pins for the hinges are available from Mini specialists. Other than that it could be caused by rot in the hinge reinforcing behind the A panel or in the inner or outer A panel itself or a problem with the door. You need to find out what has failed before deciding how to fix it.

def dont want to be doing any bodging, the inner and outer a pannels were relpaced recently so it might be a matter of changing the hinges as they are original and quite old, the passenger hinges have loads of play but are still relatively aligned. guess ill be donig the lot. cheers
