My engine will be out of my car by friday, what is the best sequance for splitting the gearbox and engine?
Thanks, Chris.
Get an engine stand to start with...
attach engine to stand
Drain fluids.
remove bell housing, starter motor, then flywheel, followed by the transfer case
turn engine over ( gearbox uppermost )
remove all bolts and two nuts
Lift and separate

Once flywheel is off, undo all the bolts and hit with soft faced mallet...
Ok, thanks. Ill split it this weekend.
Thanks, Chris.

Also going to check the idler gear & primary end floats.
May as well paint the block whilst it's out too.
Better than new when finished.
