I wondered if anybody had ever made/used something like this before. Basically, i want to be able to move a mini shell around in the garage, and i'm thinking of a dollie made of a wooden board, 75mm castor on each corner. The board would be about 400mm square, and there would be four of them positioned at each corner of the floorpan. But, i need the shell raised to work underneath it, approx. 500mm. Any ideas of a good way to do it? I'm thinking of four wooden stilts, say 2x2, one on each corner with another square board on top?

cheers. dave.

Yeah, think it was sprocket who made one, Just a big wooden frame with couple wheels.

If it wasn't then mini sprocket then it was someone with a white mini,

ah you little diamonds. That's lovely, just wanted to check i'm not a nutta. A spit wouldn't be any good because my garage isn't big enough. I like the pallet and truck idea but again garage not big enough.

That's a nice solid frame he's got there, but i'm going to have to make something different because of the lack of space (single garage), and i need access to the sills. I'll sort it, lovely cheers.

Apallet on castors. If you need more height then a stack of 2 or 3 pallets on castors.

The only thing they really restrict is working on the exhaust or handbrake cables.

i have one of those cage thingys that you see round the back of supermarkets, cut the cage bit off so your left with the bottom frame and four big castors, then two lenghs of 4x4 fence posts bolted across the frame. i guess if you wanted to go higher just put a couple of pallets on top of that.
