ok, i have an 88 mini (fifi as seen below!) and she used to have a normal 2 clock dash in her. the temperature used to read around the half way mark on very hot days and a little less on cooler days. i bought the dash from an spi 96 cooper and fitted it in, and ever since it has read just above the blue on the temp guage. wont move any further. is this normal and do i need to worry or is the sender unit in compatible with the later clocks?
Hey, out of interest does your fuel gauge work properly (well.. as best as it should in a mini

Hey, out of interest does your fuel gauge work properly (well.. as best as it should in a mini) I think one of the previous owners of my 92 British Open fitted a similar dash (could even be from a cooper going off the gauges in the centre, did the spi have an SRS warning light or not?) Lately (with getting ready for the trek from sunny manchester to hopefully bahamas style weather in newquay
) I've also wondered if the temp gauge was reading correctly as it seems to stay lower than I would expect.

No the spi did not have an srs warning light. Mpi mini had airbags from 97on. You have mpi clocks by the sound of it...

Ah sorry.. my mistake (my own fault for coming on here at silly o clock!) it reads as if i have the SRS warning.. I dont.. I was checking if the SPI did or not have the warning (more to guess the age/model of my dash)
mine was definately a spi cooper. i know the car and bought the interior from the owner when it was smashed up. fuel guage seems to work fine.
Bugger... I wonder if that means I've ended up with a duff new sender then
