We recently noticed oil dripping from the seal on what i assume to be the temp switch on our 92 boc.
It is an inch to the right and above the oil pressure relief valve.
We were sold an oil pressure switch from a local supplier which looks like the right part.
I cannot see anything behind the distributor cap which is where the haines manual says the switch for pressure should be and no oil is leaking from there.
Do we have the right part for the location of the leak or is the temp switch a different part. Haines also suggest a torque setting and loctite, will a tightly done up spanner do the job?
Thankyou for any advice you may have.

oil pressure/temperature switch leak?

You have the correct thing, Haynes means behind the distributor itself and not just the cap. Don't put any threadlock on it, it's going directly into the main oil gallery and you really don't want thread lock in there. It has a tapered thread and will seal itself when it is tight. You just need a 1 inch spanner and there isn't a specific torque setting. I think there is an oil temperature gauge in the Open Classic but where the sender is I don't know.

Thanks for your help,
it does look like the right part, but being a relative novice I didn't want to make a fatal mistake.
