Ok, this thread will benefit greatly from some pictures which I'll add over the weekend but:
I got a bit overzealous when removing my wheel bearings from the hub this week, and think I may have caused some small nicks in the inside wall of the hub where I've caught it with my punch. They're quite small, and not deep, and are on the wall where the outer races would touch.
Is it likely this had made the hub unusable, or is this not a problem?

Have I knackered my hub?

Is this the same hub as the bolt is stuck in? If so why not get another hub?

Monetary concerns. I'm having to sell non-vital organs just to afford an engine.

They are bad in respect that they will cause issues getting the outer part of the bearing in, if you a have a dremel or similar dressing the bits that stick out so they are flush will be fine.
When you put the outer races in use a bit of bar, 1/2" dia is about ideal an be very patient, a ligt tap in two or 3 places and gradually work it in until it touched the rased bit in the hub.

So if i can still get the outer races in, it won't cause any problems after that?

The grooves will only impeid the fitting of the outter race for the bearings, if you do the above you should have no problems with the bearings/hubs
