Although I am a little young, to even drive yet - being only 16 - I love the idea about a bike engine in a mini...

It is like a dream car for me, as I love motorbikes, and i'm also in love with the mini! The only thing that worries me is the prices, I don't have a clue about them!

Anyone tell me a round-about price broken down, to show me where the money is going, as I really have no idea about the prices of these beasts!

The only thing I don't need mentioned is the Insurance, as I want it to be a road car, if that is legal?

Any help would be much appreciated!

a rough breakdown is pretty difficult to give really as each build seems to go differently but if you go to the zcars website they have all the kit prices there.

off the top of my head i think the bike kit is about £7500

then you need an engine : £1000 ish for R1

a decent mini to start with £ xxx

then there is about £5000 worth of extras you will end up buying lol.

insurance for a 17 year old on a zcar mini will be almost impossible to get i rekon.

i think if you search through the zcars forum pages and look at all the projects going on you will get an idea of how much they cost and stuf. usually around £12,000 +

better start saving lol!

Yes I did guess it would be near impossible to insure, thats why I thought about it now, to save for it! Lol.
Oh, prices always seems to go up, but wages never follow do they! Lol.

I think you said it all there mate. wish my wages would go up. I'm 20 and getting paid abuot £4.20 an hour!!
And before you say "thats not legal" it is as im an "APPRENTICE"!! God damn that word

Haha... Yeah, aprenticeships are not the best paid jobs... I was going to go on to one, but opted for a full time course... EMA + Part time job = just as much money if not more!
