Im looking for a alternator from another make of car thats a higher amp and will bolt straight on. I only want it to try and start a engine but i may keep it for my final build.

Could someone also give me a link to somewhere that sells re-biuld kits for alternators.

Cheers,
Carl

You can get 55 and 65A alts from 90's era Ford escorts, same fittings, bolts straight on (thats what I fitted to mine). there are a few other alternators that will bolt straight on or can be modified to fit.

Check ebay for rebuild kits, usually a few people selling them. All you realy need is new bearings and a set of carbon brushes. Be sure that the coil windings are still good and not electrically shorted. Also check that the diode pack is still functioning.

You will proly find it cheaper and easier to just get a NEW / recon alt from Hellfraurds. They have a surcharge on the alternators, and when you take the old one back you get about 25 - 30 quid back. My new bosh alt only cost me £30 once I took the old one back. ;)
