Ok i want to fit a safety devices roll cage but still need the use of my back seats. So here are my questions.

I will be fitting cobra classic seats. Can I still use my normal seatbelts or do I need harnesses?

Can I use my back seats as normal with the cage?

Thanks

depends whether the cage has a diagonal across it but if not then the rear seats will be fine and yeh you can still use your normal seat belts with the new seats :-

Is it dangerous with normal belts in the front like hitting your head off the cage or will it be ok.

Thanks

Only if its a half cage, if its a full cage then there will be bars above and in front of you. Personally I wouldnt like to drive a car with a full cage unless i had good buckets and harnesses

I had a removable diag in one a few year back so if I needed the back seat I just took it out! came in quite handy realy
you could tell when it was in though if you hammered it into a corner :-

basically, yes! The diagonal helps stiffen the car massivley over the non-diagonal rear cage!

I have not had rear seats in any onf my last 6 mini's, it's much better knowing you can tell people that you only have 2 seats as your "friends" don't increase when you have car because they know you can't be a taxi for them!! lol

Insurance is fine they view a roll cage as a cosmetic change to the car. Anyone recommend some seats that are not those lage cobra buckets. Was thinking of some cobra classics any other recommendations that are suitable with a roll cage. Remember I still want to use my back seats.

Also someone on the forum mentioned you can buy 3 point harnesses with pretensioners. Does anyone know where.

Thanks

well i got cobra classics and a full roll cage and u can fit someone in the backseats sideways
because the seats lean back leaves you with hardly any room. also one thing i found with the cage if your going to fit a dash do it first because i welded mine in then done the dash. which windows have to come out and all that kaffufle just thought id tell you that aswell.

Just another quick question can you use standard seatbelts with cobra classics or will it just not work with bucket seats.

Thanks

think it works to a degree but the seats are usually so laid back the shulder strap wont erach ur shoulder properly, better to have buckets with harnesses, even if they are jsut the same thickness as the standard seatbelts, they'll sit better in the car.
