Window Mechanism Sealer

I have has a bit of a search but had no luck in finding anything, can anyone tell me what sealer I need to use for the window mechanism the stuff that goes between the mechanism and the door

Do you mean the stuff like blue tack or the rubber bonding on the glass to mechanism.

The stuff I used to hold/seal the regulator to the inner door skin was called Dum Dum

If you mean the stuff which holds the regulator channels to the bottom of the glass I would use some sort of glazing sealant like used to fix in place modern car windscreens

Good silicone sealant will work nicely.

I need the stuff that goes between the requlator and the inner door skin so it looks like Dum Dum is the stuff I need

Yes you want something like that which is non setting. I wouldn't use silicon because it goes off solid, then when the door flexes and vibrates it will peel away and you could loose the seal depending on what grade of silicon it is but more importantly you'll never be able to get the regulator off again if you need to. When I asked Rover what it was they said 'it's just white grease I think mate'. It isn't, they just didn't have a clue about their product.

use something like tiger seal or sicaflex - available from all trade automotive paint outlets.

good solid bond but minimal amount of flex so it wont crack and break apart.

Hmm I will have to look for that, although have done a search on google and only comes up with sellers in the US

I wouldnt use sikaflex if i were you we use it in work all the time
and i can tell you, you won't get them apart again without damage
to the winder mechanism!
