O.K recently fitted my twin SU's to see if they would work. The other night they were o.k but needed tuning. I have just fitted a new throttle cable. Anyway when we started it today it revs like hell and the revs just go steadily up and you have to switch it off. What could be the problem?? My Dad reckons it could be worn needles. We are also getting maybe a bit to much fuel. Could the idle control be screwed up?? Thanks in advance.

most defintely need setting up....and a tune...
You'll also need to balance the twins, you can do this by ear, but I would suggest using one of thos carb-balancer thingies....They have to suck the same amount otherwise 1 and 2 will be running a different mixture to 3 and 4,
Personally I only like twins as period pieces, or for novelty value, where as you'll get pretty much the same flow from an HIF44 .

This is where me and Guessworks differ, I love twin carbs! Sounds like the new throttle cable is just a little too tight, there isn't enough oil (or not thick enough) in the dashpots and they're a little out of balance. Do both the throttles return to the idle screws? Give them a proper set-up and they'll probably be fine.
