As per title really. My earth cable is well grotty, broken, rusty, full of splits............

Just wondered if anyone knew what SWG it was. I can ask the electrician at work to sort me some free cable if I know what it is! :)

When you say full length you do realise the lead that runs the full length under the car is actually 12 V live ??

Just checking ?

:) I meant to ask what the 'length' of the earth cable was aswell as the cable type, I just forgot to ask about the length in the first post. I do mean the earth strap though, yeah, I was at work and was trying to ask how long it was and what gauge it was, but I just got about 3 foot of it and some fittings for the ends. to be honest though I might end up popping to Halfords tomorrow if they are as cheap as everyone says.

I was just trying to get another sneaky freeby! :withstupid:

They really are cheap, and ready made. And if the cable you have aquired isn't automotive cable it might not be the best idea to use as cable in cars needs to be flexible and vibration friendly, installation cable for buildings isn't.
