Attached File  S60001930.JPG   740.64K   26 downloadsHere is my Mini which has just had the last John Cooper 90BHP S Works tunning kit fitted to it 3 weeks ago!
I arranged this all with Classic Minis (Mike Raven). Mike called on the services of an ex JCW technician to fit the kit onto my car. I am really pleased with it and it is now much better to drive.

I though I had lost the opportunity to have a conversion kit fiited last summer when John Cooper Works closed he garage. But managed to track down Mike at Classic Minis who had the last remaining 4 kits. Mine is the last kit produced and i have a really nice certificate to confirm this which is signed by Mike Cooper. Every cloud has a silver lining Hey?

When I was having the work done Mike Raven at Classic Minis said he is now in the process of developing its own conversion kit very simular to the John Cooper kit but with more oomph!

No ii wont be disapointed as i did my home work on this befor going ahead and am fully aware that it will not make 90BHP. I dont think any did or do!

The car is still low mileage @ 15k and it is a heck of alot better drive now than before and sounds great. with twin janspeed exhaust.

I may consider further engine mods like new throttle body, differrent cam and change the final drive to give more power. But the next main priority is improve the handling the best that can be acheived on 13" wheels.

I have no plans to change the 13" wheels as I think they look great. I just want the car to handle the best that it can be. So the plan is to get a complete negative camber kit from mini spares and get some body who knows how to fit and set it all up for me correctly. Probably someone like Bill Richards.

Its kind of funny though that i said i would not want to do ant further engine mods but now i find myself looking as what else can be acheived like and thoughts of changing the cam and changing the final drive keep popping in my head. Just where will it end???

put front and rear sway bars on, the front sway will be especially great for 13's

What is a sway bar? Is it the same as a anti roll bar?

I wouldn't bother with the throttle body to be honest but if you do choose to do that the cheaper alternative is a vvc throttle body of the MG range. plenty in Scrappers at dirt cheap prices.

If you do change the cam remember to only use a INJECTION specific cam ie SW5i.

Final drive options - 3.1 or 3.44 for best results.
