Hi.
I'm new to mini'ing in general and this is my first post. I've got a '97 cooper and it has 2 spotlights. I personally like the 'spotlightless' look and want to take them off. Seems easy enough but I can't trace where the wires go back to unplug them! Any one know?
Also it'll leave me with a grille on show so I thought I'd make a feature of it I found a website selling a four slat grille with mesh behind it, but for the life of me cannot find it again. Any one know what I mean or who sells one like that? In 2 minds if it'll actually look good though so any views welcome.

That wasn't so painful. Cheers,

Jimmy.

That's exactly the grille, thanks for that I would never have found it. I guess if you've ordered one that answers my question about if they look good.

I know it goes back to a relay somewhere I just can't trace which one it is. I'll have to be less tight and buy a haynes manual I suppose. Cheers.

If they were fitted by a previous owner, and not factory-fit, I doubt very much it will be in the Haynes. The only thing you can really do is physically follow the wires through the grill (or wherever they go) with your fingers until you find the relay etc.

If it's an Mpi (rad at front) and factory fit lamps, then they have connectors just behind the grille. I did the same to my Cooper, just taped up the connectors and tie-wrapped them out of the way.

If you go on http://www.minimag.co.uk/ you can see in the top left corner a red mini with the grille on. It was in last months magazine. There must be pics of other cars somewhere but i havnt been able to find any.

In the end I took all the front apart yesterday and found the connectors. Cheers for that.
I also saw the picture of the grille on mini magazines website, again I've been looking everywhere to see how it looks.

If you're going to be selling the spotlights let me know how much and I might have them, depending on condition. :w00t:)
