Some places seem to list front and rear seperately and some don't.

Are all four the same, or are they front / rear specific?

i think the only difference is that the rear cones are threaded so you can get the cone compressor on to them, as you don't need a compressor for the rears they aren't threaded. so IMO you can put fronts on the rear

The same cone is used all round. Stick to the genuine ones if you're replacing them - apparently some after-market ones collapse far too quickly!
As far as I know they are all threaded, so they can be compressed for fitting to the front suspension.

I believe it's only Mini Sport that list them seperately. There is no difference between front and rears as said above but Mini Sport bought a batch of springs from Rover when Longbridge was sold up that were defective or manufactured badly. They have either no nut welded into the middle or bad threads or something so you can't use a compressor in them. Everyone else in the world would have scrapped the batch as Rover were planning to but Mini Sport decided they could sell them as rear only cones, which don't technically exist. There is a chance that since these parts were declared defective and rejected by the original manufacturer insurance companies could take issue with people using them, even though they work just fine in a rear fitment.

They are all the same, why would they go to the expence of changeing them??
