Same as above.... when I hit my hazard lights... I hear the ticking and the lights come on and flash, but they are really weak.... my left and right indicators work fine and are nice and bright....

any clues?

Thanks

68 Sportpack Replica (I've been told it's only a '68 chassis... sorry for any broken hearts)

sounds to me you have the wrong relay fitted to the hazzard lights. Borrow one and see if that makes any difference.

Check for corrosion and good contact in the hazard light circuit, around the flasher connectors and the inline fuse terminals. Also replace the fuse with a new one as this could also be corroded.

A '68 shouldn't have hazards I don't think, I'll have to go and check.

Minis don't have a chassis.....

If you mean body, then yes it probably is only the body that's still a '68 if someone has commited the unfrogiveable crime of fitting a Sportspack to a '68 car. Or maybe it's just the V5 and commission plate that say '68 so you don't have to pay road tax, but then maybe I'm just an old cynic.

well personally... my car is registered as a 1968... here in California a car has to be 25 years or older to bypass smog and emmissions test and be registered....

I've been told that my car is actually more "updated" than that.... it has hazards, as well as the full burlwood dash, the later "puffy" seats, no airbag, no repeaters on the wings (fenders here in the USA), the 1275 with dual SU's, fog lamp switch but no lamp...etc

so until a real mini expert can tell me different, I'm claiming 1968...>_<

thanks for the info... when I took it to the local mini repair shop, I didn't know my hazards weren't working or I would have had him check them while the car was there getting sorted out...

it's actually more of a replica sportpack... it has the arches, and 13x7 Image Splits (three-piece wheels) Posted Image

Sorry J-Lo, I didn't notice that this was you posting as I only read the body of the post. I know we've already been through the history of your car, I was thinking this was someone over here!

Errm, yeah they aren't Sportspack arches. Look like Euro Group 5 arches or something like that.

I think they are Group 5's too... my car is more of a Sportpack Caracature (with the wider flares and wheels)....LOL

so.. I found out my car is a 1983, registered as a '68... I don't think that an actual '68 was sacrificed, I think it was just named that in the paperwork for registration... I feel better knowing that a true '68 wasn't cut up to make my car... and the wheels are staggered (2.5-inch outer lip on the fronts and 3.5-inch out lip on the rear)
