AAARRRRRGGGGG Engine wont go back on its mounts

Ive spent about 10 hours now trying to get my engine back into the car and bolted in. Ive attached the engine mounts to the engine but I can get one lined up but the other is too high by about 6mm. Ive had the sub frame powder coated so thought the thickness of that might affect it, after ages getting it off it didnt make any difference.
Ive measured the old engine mounts and the new and there is .18mm difference which isnt going to have any effect.
My only option I think is to take the engine back out again and the lcb off which is a ruddy nightmare to get on and bray stink out of the sub frame mounting point with a rubber hammer and a peice of wood!!!
Please can someone help?
cheers Simon

other mounts were just bolted though and a few turns on the nut, nowhere near tight.

I put a rope around the clutch/bell housing and lifted it with the crane (left the engine mount bolts loose), once it took the weight, i was able to get the other side in line.

Make sure the two long bolts that hold the rad end mounting bracket to the gearbox are loose as this will give you some more play. Keep trying...it will go !

if so the genuine ones are supposed to be better for this, they allow the engine to sit
down more and line up with the bolts.

The mounts are standard ones not quick release but are the same size as the old ones.
I think the only way is to try and persuade the part of the subframe the mount sits on with a block of wood and a rubber mallet.
If that doesnt work there will be a fire damaged phoenix for sale as im in the mood to set it on fire if it doesnt work.
