new to the forum so hi to all.
i'm hoping someone can help, when ever it rains (usually heavy rain) my mini starts the splutter/jump/mis-fire. it's very worrying especially when your down the motorway.
I went to get it fixed at jonspeed - they said i had a hair line crack somewhere (I'M bit vague on this, sorry) and they fixed it. it has been working fine until today!
what is the problem? i understand it's damp getting in places but where and how can i stop this.
thank you in advance

sound like a usual mini probem in the rain, either the dizzys getting wet or water spalshing up onto the coil.

I tried the rubber glove trick, plastic in front of the electrics trick... by far the best thing to do is to change the cap, and leads... a general service. When was the last time you had a service?

i'm glad it's a common mini problem and not just with my mini - if you know what i mean. i'll defo try the rubber glove trick - do i just put it over the dizzy?
thanks for the help.
Pretty much. Just cut the ends of the fingers of and poke each lead through a different finger, and pop the main glove bit over the dizzy... works a treat.
